“Show, don’t tell”!
There’ll be lots for the senses to absorb around the Rosh Hashana table* as we explore the beautiful and engaging rituals of the first day of the new year! Good songs, fun foods and a whole lots of laughter! A relaxed kid-friendly setting where formalities are banned, and fun is on the menu!
Plus some good food. Because good food has gotta be on the menu at a Jewish event, no?
There’s no required knowledge or affiliation neccessary, so if you think its sounds like something your family would enjoy on Rosh Hashana Day, join us!
But if you want to know more, start here and here - the hebrew word for the symbolic foods we eat is Simanim.
*It’s fascinating to see the two aspects of Rosh Hashana - the serious intensity of the Synagogue services with the haunting melodies and shofar blasts, and then in real contrast, so many festive traditions surrounding food and fun. it’s a great reminder that Judaism is about balancing the two… allowing the spiritual and the Divine to imbue our every day lives down to the foods we enjoy. Think about that. and then RSVP for the family Rosh Hashana ‘Seder’.
