Shavuot Dinner

On Friday at 4:00pm, we kick off our Shavuot celebrations in style with an indulgent gourmet ice cream bar loaded with delicious toppings for everyone to enjoy, followed by the reading of the Ten Commandments — reliving the powerful moment our people stood together at Sinai.

Every child who joins us will receive their very own LEGO set to take home, adding even more excitement to the celebration! Plus, all children will go into the draw for an extra-special raffle prize — a giant LEGO set that one lucky winner will take home!

The celebration continues with a full dairy Shabbat dinner featuring an incredible spread of Shavuot favourites in a warm and festive atmosphere.

Throughout the evening, enjoy “10 Torah TED Talks” from inspiring community members sharing powerful ideas, insights, and stories on a variety of fascinating topics.

It promises to be an uplifting, meaningful, and unforgettable Shavuot celebration filled with inspiration, connection, learning, and of course — incredible food! We would love you to join us.

On Saturday, services will begin at 9:30am, followed by Yizkor at 11:00am and a delicious Kiddush afterwards.

Newcastle Community Seder

There’s something so beautiful about sitting in a room filled with the diverse and eclectic crowd that makes up the wonderful Jewish community in Newcastle. Whether you’re an old hand at Passover Seders or never attended one before, there’s a seat at the table for you!

We’ll spend the evening together on a discovery of the fascinating story of our nations humble beginnings as slaves in Egpyt and their miraculous freedom, all while drawing timely lessons for our own lives about what it means to be truly free. Its a night that welcomes questions and encourages discussion as we crunch on the handmade Shmurah matzah, drink 4 cups of wine, and sing late into the night as one united family (Don’t worry - there’s song books. Even after all these years the Rabbi cant remember half the words to the tunes. Wonder if it has to do with all that wine though..)

The night is only as wonderful as the people who join us for it, so it would be our honour to have you grace this community Passover Seder.

RSVP here so we can reserve you a bowl of Malki’s famous chicken soup!

Families Passover Seder

Families Passover Seder

Designed with the kids in mind, this Passover Seder is all about creating positive family memories as we commemorate the anniversary of our nation’s miraculous freedom from their Egyptian Slavery and the lessons we can learn for our own lives today!

Run by Malki Rodal (yep, the Rabbi will be down in the Synagogue running a parallel Seder there), we’re proud to offer an exclusively kids focused Seder that will guide you as a family through the ritual-rich 15 steps of the Passover Seder.

You can expect lots of singing (some fun, some silly, some educational), character visits from some of the main players in the Exodus story, and lots of interactive fun to keep the kids engaged and parents amused.

There’s no need to bring anything but some good spirits and your loudest singing (or enthusiastic) voice!

P.S: We know as parents these things are important to know in advance: Main Course will be served at approximately 6.45pm but there’ll be plenty to munch on in the meantime for those with rumbly bellies.
