ABOUT US

For the last several years, Rabbi Yossi and Malki Rodal directed Chabad of RARA - the national organisation servicing the spiritual needs of Jewish people living in rural and regional areas around Australia. When the RARA organisation was born, the founders, Saul & Beverly Spigler, had a dream to further the mission of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and bring Yiddishkeit to every corner of Australia, no matter how far.

What has transpired in the twenty years since is a testament to the vision and devotion of the Spigler Family. From small beginnings, they have created a flourishing organisation that is devoted to bringing the light and warmth of Judaism to Jews in regional cities and tiny towns; down dusty outback roads and literally wherever they may be needed.

With the dedicated nurturing and support from Chabad of RARA, several Jewish communities grew and flourished, and the need for a more permanent presence became apparent. Now, building on all that, the establishment of Chabad of the Hunter presents a permanent regional base of spirituality, culture and heritage to the communities of the Central Coast and Hunter Valley, and its surrounding areas.

OUR MISSION

Chabad of the Hunter and Central Coast is dedicated to providing for the spiritual, emotional and material wellbeing of Jewish people living in the Central Coast and Hunter Regions.

Our commitment is underpinned by the preeminent teaching of our leader, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, that every single Jew is precious and valued;  irrespective of affiliation, level of commitment or extent of Jewish knowledge. We are committed to serving all Jews throughout the region with unconditional love, respect and care.

Our mission is to promote Jewish understanding, awareness and practice; strengthening Jewish identity and affording every Jew the opportunity to experience the joy and light of their Jewish heritage.

We are devoted to providing exceptional educational, religious, and social services for all ages and stages, including children, teens, young adults, singles, families, seniors and everyone in between.

As a Chabad institution, we pledge to fulfil the mandate of the Lubavitcher Rebbe by increasing in acts of goodness and kindness for all humankind; thus preparing the world for the Ultimate Redemption.
