Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year - the day on which we are the closest to G-d and to the essence of our own souls.
It is the Day of Atonement, on which we reflect on our year past with prayer and solemness.
For almost 26 hours, we focus only on prayer and supplication, holding back from the usual routine of self-care, including fasting from food and drink.
