Welcome to Lamplighters, your Jewish children’s learning oasis in Newcastle! Lamplighters is Australia’s children’s Jewish learning experience servicing Jewish families in the Hunter and Central Coast regions.

Our dream is that every Jewish child in the region has access to Jewish education. An opportunity to enter a space that is engaging, vibrant, and alive with the spirit of our tradition. A place that illustrates the joys of tradition, promotes a sense of culture and traditional values and fosters a new generation of inspired Jewish adults.

The program is a weekly 1.15-hour session designed to foster each child’s inherent creativity and curiosity, encouraging thought-provoking discussion and encouraging engagement in the multi-sensory hands-on activities. All the while, children will be absorbing essential aspects of Jewish spirit and tradition.

Our commitment to providing a first-rate Jewish education in a fun and nurturing Jewish environment means that we have designed an innovative Jewish heritage program, Hebrew reading curriculum, and festival and life cycle events. This provides students with an understanding of their heritage that is relevant and meaningful to their lives today and for many years ahead.

Many adults have expressed their displeasure at their own years in Hebrew School, and we are committed to providing your children with a completely different experience. We trust that the wonderful, fun years at Little lamplighters will inspire our students with a strong sense of Jewish identity and empower them to use their Jewish values as a guiding light that navigates them through life.
